Is Education Matters, LLC approved by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE)?
Yes. We are approved by the MSDE Office of Child Care as a childcare training organization. Our approval number is CKO-3400. Our DC approval number is 031-W11.
Is Education Matters, LLC approved by the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE)?
Yes. Our OSSE approval number is 031-W11.
Do all workshops qualify for continuing education credit?
No. At times we may offer "non-credit" workshops to parents and other interested individuals. Credit workshops are advertised as such and will include in the course description the training category (i.e. pre-service, core of knowledge or continued training), state approval number, and number of credit hours.
Can I use my Maryland continuing education credits (CEC) in DC or Virginia?
To answer this we contacted credentialing specialist in DC and Virginia. Both states will only accept (1) CECs issued by a state-approved training organizations, or (2) CEC issued by a college, university or nationally recognized program.
When will I receive my certificate?
Unless otherwise stated, certificates will be issued at the end of our workshops (provided all workshop requirements have been met).
Why is there a deadline for registration?
Unless otherwise noted, the deadline for registration is 48 hours prior to the day of the workshop. The reasons are so (1) we can ensure that payments have been processed, and (2) as a courtesy to our instructors so they can accurately plan for the number of participants.
Why are walk-ins not allowed?
We do not allow walk-ins at this time. Individuals are able to register for a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the start of the workshop.
Are materials included in the fee or is there an additional cost?
Yes. The costs for materials needed during the workshop are included in the workshop fee.
Will I receive confirmation regarding my registration?
Yes. All registrants will receive an email confirming their registration. Please provide email address where requested.
